A perfect union, editorial, December 25, 1941

A perfect union

IN THIS supreme hour when the fate of the Philippines is hanging in the balance the people of these islands are blessed in having at their head such perfect union as is found in President Manuel L. Quezon and General Douglas MacArthur. Fighters both, their friendship, like their courage, has stood the test of the years and today, facing a common peril, in their will, their determination, their faith in Divine Providence and in the triumph of the right and victory to come, they are as one. Almost two thousand years ago—the Star of Bethlehem. For us, today—these dark and desperate days—the Star of Hope.
